Location: Cairo, Egypt

Background: The Acting Office Director position supports the USAID/Egypt mission, specifically within the Economic Growth Office. The role requires a strong background in economics and holds responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Economic Growth Development Office in alignment with USAID/Egypt's objectives and priorities.

  2. Program Oversight: Oversee the implementation of economic growth development programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with USAID regulations, policies, and procedures.

  3. Budget Management: Manage the office budget effectively, ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and in line with programmatic needs.

  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government counterparts, implementing partners, and other relevant entities to advance program objectives and promote collaboration.

  5. Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to enhance their performance and professional development.

  6. Monitoring and Evaluation: Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of program activities, ensuring that data is collected, analyzed, and used to inform decision-making and programmatic adjustments.

  7. Reporting: Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to USAID headquarters, providing updates on program progress, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with USAID rules and regulations, as well as relevant laws and regulations of the host country.

  9. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges to program implementation and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively.

  10. Representation: Represent USAID/Egypt and the Economic Growth Office in meetings, conferences, and other relevant forums as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, international development, public policy, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in economic development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Must have experience and background in advanced economics and international development with experience in Egypt
  • Strong understanding of USAID rules and regulations, as well as experience working on USAID-funded programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
